Dallas brewery Noble Rey approached us to design the initial run of their four flagship beers: Off the Leash, Baracus, Golden Rey and Steampunk.
Our initial vision was to craft an illustrated persona for each brew, but the real estate on cans is slim and Texas beer coolers are overcrowded. So we opted to create an ownable stacking system that creates a full body character when the cans are stacked two tall. These cans are hard to miss when you're browsing the beer cooler...or double fisting.
Work done with Magnificent Beard.

Sho Sync 3.0 was the premier second screen experience for both iPad and iPhone. The Sho Sync app leveraged technology that would instantly recognize audio from Showtime programs and offer users time synced trivia, tweets and polls.
Version 3.0 was focused on improving the navigation structure and sync experience for users along with debuting the iPhone app.
Episodic content was restructured into a horizontally scrolling river to give users a sense of time scale. Unsynced episodes were preceded by spoiler alerts to keep users from accidentally ruining their binge.
Special attention was paid to the animations and 1-to-1 user interactions to give the app gravity and a cinematic quality. Each reveal, scroll and interaction carries a deliberate weight.

The Coca-Cola Freestyle app allows you to connect your iPhone or Android devices directly to the Coca-Cola Freestyle machine to pour custom mixes created within the app.
The app experience was designed to be a nod to the experience a user would see on the dispenser using. The animations and transitions were designed to directly support the information architecture so that a user will always be conscience of where they are in the app.
I pulled inspiration from a mural Magnificent Beard created for Transit's previous location to create an iconic, modern and familiar seal. Over the years, we've kept the branding loose to allow it to change and grow as the shop does.
Together, we're building the dream of the least douchey specialty bike shop through the power of unrelenting design and collaboration. Enjoy a coffee, a tamale or custom painted, custom built frame.
24 hours of blood, sweat and beers – Rocket Science is Bottle Rocket's annual hackathon.
I developed a visual style referencing everyday iconography from the phones we all use and elements that make Bottle Rocket special. This guide informed decisions on how I designed apparel, physical goods, signage for the physical space and limited edition goods for those that can make the full 24 hours.
From 2012-2015, I worked with the James Beard award having, mother of Meat Fight, Alice Laussade to create shirts, posters and environmental illustrations as part of Magnificent Beard.
100% of our time and effort was donated to aid Meat Fight's cause to raise awareness and ultimately find a cure for multiple sclerosis.
I worked with Meat Fight 2012 champeen and general badass Dallas restauranteur Jack Perkins to develop branding for his latest venture, The Slow Bone. A suite of marks were created for use on signage, uniforms and merch. A little bit 'Merica, a little bit dirty joke and a lot of BBQ badassery.
Formed in 2008, Matt Brinker and I have been hand pulling limited edition serigraphy for bands you have(n't) heard of under the name Magnificent Beard. Printmaking has taken us to festivals across the United States, allowed us to exhibit our work internationally and has given us the privilege to chase down the Wu-Tang Clan for money owed. It's a long story.
Here are a few select prints.
